Job Purpose

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and assisting in financial reporting and compliance activities. The role contributes to effective financial control, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Process and record daily financial transactions, including journals, payments, and receipts.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, payment processing, and follow-up.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory regulations, and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 requirements.
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (UAE-attested certificates required).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
  • Prior experience in the marine or offshore industry is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (ERP/Tally) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with audits and financial reporting is an advantage.
